Steady Sponsor takes your privacy seriously. This app is built around one core principle: your personal writing never leaves your device.

All step writing, responses to prompts, and journal entries are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage — a private area on your own device. This data is never transmitted to any server, never seen by the app's creator, and never shared with any third party.

When you clear your browser data or uninstall the app, your writing is deleted permanently. There is no cloud backup. We recommend exporting your step work periodically using the PDF export feature if you want to preserve it.

Steady Sponsor collects almost nothing. Here is the complete list of what is stored or transmitted:

• ◆Your step writing — stored locally on your device only, never transmitted
• ◆Your theme preference (dark/light) — stored locally on your device only
• ◆Your streak and progress data — stored locally on your device only
• ◆Chat history with the AI sponsor — stored locally on your device only
• ◆Anonymous page view analytics via Vercel Analytics — no personal data, no cookies, GDPR compliant
• ◆AI sponsor chat messages — sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses, subject to Anthropic's privacy policy

We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any identifying information. There are no user accounts.

The AI sponsor feature sends your chat messages to Anthropic's API to generate responses. By using the sponsor chat, you agree that your messages may be processed by Anthropic in accordance with their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

We strongly recommend not sharing highly sensitive personal information (full name, address, identifying details about others) in the chat. Share what you need to for your recovery work, but remember that chat messages do travel over the internet to Anthropic's servers.

By using Steady Sponsor, you agree to the following terms:

• ◆The AI sponsor is not a licensed counselor, therapist, sponsor, or medical professional. Its responses are for informational and reflective purposes only.
• ◆Steady Sponsor does not guarantee any particular outcome, including sobriety, recovery, or improved mental health.
• ◆You are solely responsible for your recovery decisions. Always consult qualified professionals for medical, psychiatric, or legal advice.
• ◆Steady Sponsor is not affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. The Twelve Steps are reprinted here for educational purposes.

The app is not designed to treat addiction, mental illness, or any other health condition. It is a reflective tool to support the personal work of recovery alongside — not instead of — professional help, a real sponsor, and AA meetings.
